1.Putting myself out there
I know people who are in their twenties and never had a relationship. Others have but are too afraid to try harder and get realistic. You can’t just find someone sitting at home and this was me for a long time. However, I decided one day that I wanted to find a nice guy and so I signed up to online dating on a few apps. It worked too!! We’ve been together for 1 year and a half, and it’s going absolutely fabulous.
2. Throwing away the old for something new and different
Although this may be a simple gesture, a few weeks ago I threw away a pillow that I was holding onto because I’m super particular about what I sleep on. My new pillow is amazing and I fall sleep quicker because I’m so comfy!
3. Being honest
Last year I started a job that I though would be promising but it was one of the worst experiences for me in the working world. The lady I worked with was loud, rude and smoked around me. It only took me a few days to be depressed from working in that horrible environment and I told the boss one morning that the job wasn’t for me.
4. Taking time for myself
The best thing to do when life gets chaotic is to step back and have some me time. For me this means disappearing from reality and watching someone else’s life from a television screen. Other options are meditating, going to the gym, having a bubble bath, movie marathon, or window shopping can also be great ways to spend time alone.
5. Indulging in food and shopping occasionally
There’s always going to be other certain individuals who will want to make you feel bad for spending money on a new expensive handbag or for eating that second cupcake. Sometimes you just have to ignore the haters and do what makes you happy (within reason of course).
First of all, I love Parks and Recreation and 30 Rock. So seeing Amy Poehler and Tina Fey together again in a movie made me so excited. However, I didn’t set my expectations too high because a lot of comedy films seem to be a bit of a hit and miss (you get some that are totally hilarious, while some are just torture).
Sisters focuses obviously on siblings Kate (Fey) and Mara Ellis (Poehler) who return to their childhood home to pack up their bedrooms and so the house can be sold. Yeah right. The Ellis sisters are a handful and they are not ready to let go of all the great memories made in the house. As a result, Kate convinces her sister that they should throw one last party for old times sake and so Mara can have her own wild night there.
Just imagine middle aged people literally letting go for a night. This meant excessive drinking, dancing, flirting, drugs and sex but with people who are parents. The best part of film was it didn’t hold back on the crazy. There were so many times when I laughed out loud because I couldn’t believe a character said this or did that.
Sisters was overall acted well. The storyline was not very original but it worked. There were some really funny lines through out the film. Like Kate’s quick and blunt comebacks to her enemy, Brinda (Maya Rudolph). I mean Brinda’s belt really did look like a wrestling belt.
Also I wouldn’t call Sisters a chick flick it’s more of a general comedy which can be enjoyed by anyone over the age of 15. As long as you enjoy that silly and awkward style of humour then it’s right up your alley. You must also be okay with seeing a drunk man dip his penis into paint and attempt to decorate a wall, among other disastrous events.
I loved Sisters and have already seen it twice because why not? I’m all about the inappropriate jokes and sisterly love. It was the highlight of my day.
The film also stars James Brolin Diane Wiest, John Cena, Ile Barinholtz And John Leguozamo.
Let me know what you thought of the film.
On November 28 2015, my cousins and I were lucky enough to see T Swift live. There was a mix of people from young kids to middle aged couples who knew how to ‘Shake it off’.
I love Taylor and she did not disappoint at all. The moment Taylor entered the stage area she was on-point and super energenic. Not to mention, her vocals sounded great…possibly even better than her cd.
We were given free bracelets upon arrival which lit up in different colours depending on the song. You could just feel the love and excitement throughout the concert. The other swifties, the overall atmosphere and of course, Taylor Swift herself made it a night to remember.
Can’t wait for her next world tour!
